Redo General Journal Entry

We have workflow activated for the app "Verify General Journal Entries", and now we have a lot of items in our inbox with status "Redo General Journal Entry". However, there does not seem to be anything to be "redone" in most cases these items are approved and posted.

Anyone an idea why these come up other than in the case of a rejection?

And additionally, anyone an idea how to clean up the inboxes?
