Internal Catalog for Central Procurement

Dear Team,

We have an requirement where we would like to setup an Internal catalog (Internal_Test) with around 15 items so that the users can use these items from the cross catalog search bar during PR creation. We are using the App 'Manage Catalog Items' to achieve this.

We are able to achieve the requirement for local scenario but for Central Procurement Scenario we are unable to follow the same steps because in this App we cannot see the Suppliers from the connected system, we cannot see any data from the connected system.

Is there any way to achieve this? The expectation is that as soon as the User enters the article the supplier data is auto populated in the PR.

Best Regards,

Anup

Hello Anup,

Refer to the standard test scope "Central Requisitioning (1XI)" for your purpose.

I would request you to refer to the below video where the process has been explained;

Dear Vijayendra,

The video & the scope items talk about Catalog data extraction from the connected system. But what we are trying to achieve is

Create a new catalog in the S4HC system with new articles, price & supplier data.

When User selects this article from Cross catalog search, the Price & supplier data is populated in the PR.

And then the PR is ordered & replicated to ECC

So our current Issue is that in the 'Manage Catalog Items' App, when we try to search for the Supplier, we can only see the suppliers in S4HC system, we do no see the suppliers from the connected system.

Our expectation is that we also see the Supplier from the connected system in this App.

In order to overcome this Gap, now we are planning to create the same supplier again in the S4HC system with the same number range as in the connected ECC system. (We are not sure if this is the right approach but it fulfills our requirement)

Looking forward for more inputs on this topic

Thanks in Advance!

Best Regards,

Anup

Hi Anup,

Would be great to know why would you want to create a new catalog in S4HC system with new articles, price & supplier data when we can have the information available as extracted from the connected system already.

Dear Yamuna,

The need to create a new catalog in S4HC system with new articles is because we do not have these new articles even in the connected ECC system. So we cannot extract the articles from the connected system.

But if you think that is the right approach, we can even try that but our assumption is even if we follow this approach we will not achieve the below requirement.

1. User creates a PR & enters the Material no. As soon as he enters the material no. the price & SUPPLIER no. should be populated.

2. PR goes into approval

3. After Approval, auto PO is created.

It is important that the Supplier no. is populated in the fixed vendor field during PR creation because the Purchaser will not work on this PR. After approval the PR should be converted to auto PO.

Kindly let us know if you think this is achievable & we would follow that approach.

Thanks in Advance!

Dear Anup,

We don’t have currently the functionality of extracting free text items from connected systems as part of Hub based extraction in S/4HANA.

Dear Team,

After discussion with the relevant team, with the current release 2005 we have the below possibilities.

1. Extract the material from the connected system ECC & use it in Hub system. (Refer to Scope Item Central Requisitioning (1XI))

2. Currently there is no functionality of extracting free text items from connected systems as part of Hub based extraction in S/4HANA

3. As a temporary workaround, we can create the articles in the Hub system with the Supplier no. same as the connected system.

Thank you yamuna.mathew jerrin.francis junaid.alam1976 amudha.rv for the inputs!

Best Regards,

Anup
