Is it possible to use google sheets rather than excel for export of reports / import of templates?

Anyone ever tried?

If possible, what setup is required?

Thanks!

we're using gsuite accounts a lot and we've been able to maintain everything in Google sheets and then download for loading into SAP.

There is an issue with Chromebooks though, where it somehow adds a column in front, so we were not able to use chromebook to load for example journal entry templates.

Waiting for SAP to include Gsuite integration 🙂

The question here really isn't about migration - but more about export of reports and/or using the standard uploads (e.g. journal upload)

Hi Clare,

This Chrome extension might help at least on the reporting side, give it a look.

Ensure that you only save the migration template as a Microsoft Excel XML Spreadsheet 2003 file. Other file types are not supported by the SAP S/4HANA migration cockpit. It's documented in https://help.sap.com/viewer/d5699934e7004d048c4801b552f3b013/2002.500/en-US/ca2e848ff03e478db96d7dfa....

I am not so worried about the migration cockpit - thinking more about day to day operations - so stuff like exprting report data - or using some of the standard transactional uploads - for example Journal Load

Hi Clare, Did you ever manage to resolve the use of Google Sheets, we are looking to upload Purchase Requisition lines from a Google sheet and was curious to know what you have learned please. Many thanks ............ Simon

Good question. I'm wondering at least on the download side if you associated the spreadsheet extensions (.xls, .xlsx, etc.) with google sheets if it would work. I'm thinking on the upload you'd have to save whatever the google sheet was in .csv .xml or some other table.
