Vendor Bank Account Numbers greater than 17 characters in S4 HANA

Hi,

We have certain Mexico & China Vendors who have bank account numbers greater than 17 characters. As S4 HANA does not support account numbers more than 17 characters, we are unable to set up these vendors in S4 HANA. Even if we maintain these vendors in S4 HANA, the payment media file is not getting generated as SAP does not support it. Is there a workaround for this issue which we can leverage, so that we can start setting up these vendors in S4 HANA. Does any other client is facing similar issues?

Thanks
Shardul

Hello Shardul ,

this is an old problem not just S4HC related.

The solution offered from SAP was to use the Reference Specifications for Bank Details for the extra digits .

The DME will recognize the values and concatenate the number in the file so there will be no problem in the end.

You just need to accept and train the end user to use this solution.

See the following note for more details:

China

- If the Chinese bank account number is longer than 18 digits,

then save the remaining digits in the 'Reference specifications for bank

details' field.

2.DME file:

https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/96624 DME for bank account no with more than 18 digits.

China Various account number formats that sometimes have more than 18 digits. Separate the bank number if it was delivered together with the account number. Save the first 18 digits in the "Bank Account Number" field. If the Chinese bank account number is longer than 18 digits, save the remaining digits in the "Reference Specifications for Bank Details" field.
