Change posting date automatically after close material period

Hi everyone

In our system we use fiscal year variant "K4" for all companies in the group,

In some special country, they want to excute the monthly-end process  a few days earlier in May and October, 

So after Finance team close the material period by app "Close Periods" , they want to know whether can the system change the posting date to the fist day of next open period rather than today for goods movement and confirmation of production.

Otherwise, the logistic department need to modify the posting date for every posting, it's unacceptable for logistic department.

Hi,

The system cannot change the posting date to first day of next month automatically. This could cause issues in other areas e.g. what will be the posting date in finance when you are in current period and logistics is posting in next period.

Of course， We want the posting date in finance and logistics are both next period.

I believe what Sandeep tried to explain, accordingly to what you're asking is that:

- you request that a finance posting date for goods movements related postings should be proposed as the first day of next open period in accounting

- but what about other finance operations that still should be posted in the current period, e..g billings, statements, closing operations. In this case the proposed posting date cannot be suggest as first day on next open period.

So we would have different proposed posting dates in finance according to the processes, which is not possible. Therefore, seems that or logistics or finance would have to make changes.

On the other hand, and here i don't have so much knowledge, is that is system design to default system date for goods movements postings, unless other date is specified in related logistics documents like deliveries and such. So maybe the option to influence the posting date should not be explored in the end of the process in finance, but instead in the logistics process itself. Anyway, I cannot help in what regards the logistics dates determination because I don't know.
