How to add the username of a business user to a custom report on employee data

Hello,

In our company we are using a Professional Services system without integration to Successfactors. This means we can only adjust our employee data record by using the "import employees" app. This app requires two Excel files to be uploaded. The data in these Excel files contains both generic employee data as well as "employment" data. We have created a custom report so we can easily extract this data in case we want to change one or multiple employees. We are unable to integrate the field "username" of the business user in this report however.

Custom CDS view for employee upload.jpg

Which CDS view can we use for this? This CDS should preferrably allow a link to the external ID of these employees. If not, a link to the personnel number or business user ID is also helpful.

Kind regards,

Martijn van de Ven

    Hello Feras Al-Basha ,

Thank you for your response. For me field BPIdentificationNumber (ID Number) is showing the external ID of an employee record (the first field of both upload files) rather than the "username" I am looking for.

Do you really get the "username" field here?

    Kind regards,

    Martijn van de Ven

Hi M. van de Ven ,

Thank you for reaching out to the community. Have you tried using the view I_BusinessUser ? The field BPIdentificationNumber (ID Number) should provide you the "username." Looking at your report and the used views, you would be able to do a join condition on BP Number or the CB user which is provided in the field UserID of the I_BusinessUser view.

    Hope this helps,

    Feras
