Change of item unit

HI everyone,

we have the following problem. We have one material in stock which currently has the unit "liter". We would like to change this unit to "piece".

Is this possible and if yes, how can we do that?

Hi Markus,

You can use the app 'Change Material' to change your base UOM only under the following conditions:

1. If there are no stocks of the material in the current period and in the previous period

If there are stocks in the previous period, you can clear them as follows:

a) Post the stock in the previous period to the current period (for example, using movement type 561) so that the stock for the previous period is the same as the stock for the current period.

b) Clear the stock with the posting date in the previous period (for example, using movement type 562).

2. If no purchase requisitions, purchase orders, or scheduling agreements exist for the material

Please note that you may also consider instead maintaining the conversion to an alternative UOM (piece) and setting this as the sales unit for example.
