How do I download the ASE SDK without having a support login

I am attempting to follow the directions to download the Sybase ASE SDK to use in VS 2012 for ADO.Net following this:

However everytime I attempt to access the downloads I get an error saying I am not in the S-User role.

Does this mean you need to have a support contract just to download the sybase client??

If you name is not tied to an ASE download you do not have access to get the SDK either. It is part of the ASE. You can get a developers edition to test with.

    1. You can just go directly to the “SAP Store” link. The actual URL brings you to the SAP Store Download page:

    3. Now you can search for “SAP SDK for Adaptive Server Enterprise

    4. By using the exact quote, you will be able to retrieve the latest realeases: "SDK for SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise"

    5. I want to download 16.0 PL04. I select the link “SCN - SDK for SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise 16.0 PL04”. At this point, you’ll enter another screen. You’ll see two buttons on the right, “Trial Version” and “Free”:

    6. Select the “Trial Version” link. The label implies Trial version but you will have a working copy. The only thing that’ll happen is one year from now you will receive an email asking if you still want the download link for the specific version.

    7. When you press the button, a form pops-up and you fill in the required fields. Press the submit button when finished.

    8. After the form is processed, a message prompt informs you an email is sent to your address. Ignore the choice for QR scan or direct download, as the option isn’t available for the SDK. Press the “OK” button and check your email:

    9. Click the “click here” link to receive the download page:
