Hello,
We have just implemented S4HANA Public Cloud and we are gain better understanding of how authorizations work in a Cloud environment. However, we are struggling to apply restrictions on the Query Browser. Once a business user uses a report listed on the Query Browser, we would like for the authorizations to restrict the data on a segment level.
Currently the reports do not respond to the restriction applied to it. Would anyone of a way to do this?
Thank you in advance.

Hi Muzi,
Thank you for your patience with our response! I am not sure if I understood your requirement clearly/completely, but, basically you intend to bring in some sort of authorizations to restrict your query based the field- ‘Segment’.
If yes, then I would try the following:
I would go to ‘Custom Analytical Queries’ and select the field as appropriate. In my example I took I_JOURNALENTRYITEM as my data source and created a query out of that and selected the appropriate field necessary to meet my requirement. Screenshot 1 attached for reference
Now in ‘filters’ tab, I apply filter user input values and mark the following range as shown in screenshot 2.
You could tick mark multiple selections with defined intervals (upon your choice)
Save and Preview. Screenshot 3
If this is intended result you wish to obtain, publish the query!
Now, there is another cool feature where you could save the report as template for your own internal use or to public and/or default based on the relevance of the report. Screenshot 4
Let me know if this is what you were trying to achieve. Happy to assist
Thank you! Amith Nair
