Hi All,

We are using SAP Asset Manager 2010, the sync times are really long it takes about 2-4 mins even in case of little to no changes. Is there any to improve the sync process.

Regards,

Ratnakar

Hi,

You can also look at the Gateway Traces and SCPms Network trace to identify where time is been spent.
SAM 2010 is using a lot of batch calls so the performance should be improved. - check to see if you can see batch calls in the GW traces.

Are you using VPN? mobile network or WiFi?

Have you any customizations?

Hi James thanks for the reply,

I have checked the GW traces and I could see batch calls happening.

No VPN, On WiFi.

No customizations but Crew component is integrated.

Ok, I would check the Traces to see if any particular call is taking time. also what is the payloads and how much data is been sent.
try identify where the time is been spent and test with an empty delta sync.

You might need to raise an incident to SAP for further analysis.

Thank you James, I'll analyze payload and raise a ticket.

Hi,

first of all you need to check which objects are driving your sync times.

Did you setup the offline configuration with the config file provided or did you take the file from the backend transaction? You can change some of the refresh times in the config file to higher values.

You should check your rules and limit the amount of data.

Hope this helps.

Hi Oliver thank you for your reply,

My offline configuration file is from backend transaction. I'll try adjusting the refresh times and see if it makes any difference.

However for rules my understanding on Sync is, it will probably post local changes and fetch only changes in data at that timestamp. Probably restricting amount of data might not be a factor on sync times since amount of data is low anyway.

Thank you.
