account AST

Dear SAC friends

I have created an account AST but SAC aggregates the values by quarter, BPC didn't behave in this way.

Do I need to specify something in the aggregation type field?

Thanks

The question author is talking about YTD presentation. Something can be achieved with LAST aggregation, but it will ignore empty records.

Hi vadim.kalinin,

That's right, that's why I'm asking for the sceenshot. If the model is created from BPC model aggregation type of AST is already set to 'Last aggregation'.

And LAST is the incorrect option - not BPC YTD measure equivalent:

In BPC YTD will show always the last period, even if it's empty. But in SAC LAST will show last not empty period - incorrect from accounting point of view.

vadim.kalinin,

You are right, but I guess NULL is not really an expected value for AST accounts, an 'ASSET' won't just vanish in a certain period, at least it should be 0.

Sorry, but in real life balance sheet account can become empty. And loading zero values is bad idea in general.

BPC is using standard approach: empty record is equivalent to zero record. And BPC measure formula will always look on last period independent on empty, zero or some value.

thanks everyone for the help.

I mentioned BPC just to do a comparison but I have created everything in SAC, BPC is not involved at all.

I created the account order value how you can see in the screenshot but the story aggregates the values while being AST I was expecting a behavior like BPC showing the last value,

Use Exceptional Aggregation column and select LAST for AST/LEQ accounts.

But it will be not the same as with BPC - all empty values have to be replaced with zero's to have correct result.

LAST - last not empty value.

Result:

Line for Cash is incorrect due to missing zero in 202003

Please look on Cash line and understand the difference between SAC LAST and BPC standard measure!
