Hide Draft Watermark for posted invoices in preview

Hi;

When previewing a billing document (e.g. invoice), the preview always shows the "Test Copy" watermark irrespective if the invoice has been posted or not. Is there a way to only show the watermark for unposted invoices?

Thanks

Thomas

Hi Thomas

By system design, the preview button will always show a 'Preview' with watermark because there could be use cases that a print out was sent to the customer and afterwards some informational data was changed on the document, for example the text was changed.

With Preview the system issues the output with the current data and the watermark is set to ensure that this is not the output document that was sent to the customer, for example text was changed or an extensibility field was changed.

If you want to view the items which are really sent out, you can view the document in the output item table. I understand the point behind the posted versus not posted question but it's my understanding that preview will always work like this.

However, if you want to change this text I think you can explore changing the txtWaterMark field in the Master template.

I hope this helps.

Thanks,

Marty

Great thanks Marty, didn't realize that the watermark disappears once the output item is completed. This helps a lot.
