Creating an EBITDA total for financial reporting

Does anyone have a clever solution for how this can be done out of SAP?

It's more complex that just creating a financial statement version, in that this requires a separate subtotal pulling together other items which are already included in different financial statement nodes.

Any easy solution (other than calculating offline)?

We used a Custom Analytical Queries to match our offline P&L that should allow you to group accounts by functional area and summarize with more flexibility than FSV's. That's our current solution for all of the custom calculations and financial summarizations. We use the I_JournalEntryItemCube as our data source.

Interestingly - just looking through the 'Preliminary what's new' for 1808 - and it looks like there may be some interesting new functionality around Financial Statement KPIs which may do just what we need.

That's the sort of thing we are thinking of too... though currently investigating some other options too. Always keen to do as much as possible with the standard as possible!
