How do you view configuration change details?

Has anyone found a way to view the changes that actually were transported in a config project in S/4HANA Cloud?

I'm trying to figure out a way to show auditors what configuration changes were made via Configure Your Solution, but when I view the the projects transported in the View Change History the details are blank (below is an example)... Is this everyone else's experience too?

Hi - it's the same for us. I understand SAP are currently trialling a new way of allowing clients more control in the transport process, so perhaps we will be able to see more when that is coming along. We have offered to help as a Beta site.

Config notes - will appear if you use them.

I definitely think there is opportunity there as you guys mentioned. As for the notes, I don't think auditors would look favorably at a text field being the only way to track configuration changes. Not exactly a robust or fullproof tracking method. It feels like the structure is there to track they just didn't finish building out the project report.

Agree - it is pretty underwhelming from an audit trail point of view.

Sometimes topics do show in the notes section - but they do not necessarily appear consistent with all that has been updated. As Irene says, notes that you have entered against config do appear - so perhaps at the moment, this is the only way of getting a proper audit trail?

Hi Lucian,

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, this is not what they are looking for.

We are using the Configuration Tracker but it is a manually maintained Excel tool. The auditors are looking for a system generated listing of all changes that were made to the system.

The options that are listed in bullet 3 are helpful in reviewing changes to a specific configuration area, but do not work for listing all changes.

Thanks for your reply.

Well, it's hard to tell how this automation should look .

Manual transports are visible in the Import collection app but someone always needs to manually check the data in the system. If you raise an incident you can request for the full transport list made in an particular interval but that is also produced by a person not by a robot.

I think SAP needs to work with the auditors here and design a standardized process that would eliminate any manual intervention to the logs.

Hi Ryan, Irene,

Have either of you found a way to support your audit?

Our auditors are asking for something more than the manual tracking.

Thanks

Hi Andrea,

No the only option we have is manual tracking at this point, and yes we're still facing the same obstacle with our auditors. I've been bringing this up since we went live in Sept 2017, it is ridiculous to me that it hasn't been addressed since all customers want this visibility.

SAP just keeps ignoring the influence item even though it has more than enough votes to be addressed.

Sorry I don't have better news...
