Sales order/line item status shows completed but line item was delivered partially

Dear All,

Before posting my question, I had checked online for answers but could find any solution; hence seeking your help here.

A sales order was created on 30.12.2020. Except line item 100, all the rest of line items were fully delivered. The order quantity for line item 100 is 216; however 71 qty were delivered on 30.12.2020 itself and the remaining quantity 145 have been scheduled to deliver on 04.06.2021. But the overall status of the line item shows completed and delivery status shows fully delivered. I am not sure why.

The completion rule in VOV7 is empty.

Partial delivery per item in customer master - shipping (sales area) is B.

I tried replicating this scenario in test system, but it is working fine without issue.

Would you please help me with your experience. Please let me know if you need more details. Thank you.

Regards,

Maddy

You mentioned the partial delivery per item from the customer master data, but this value can be modified in the sales order as well. It is always better to check in the order itself, because it has a higher priority than customer master and customer-material info record.

If partial delivery/item is set to B in the order item as well or if it is A or C, then it is correct from system point to set the delivery status on item level as completed - indicator B means that you can only create a single delivery for this item (which already took place in your case - delivery for 71 units). You can read the official SAP Help for a more detailed explanation: Partial Delivery and Complete Delivery.

If partial delivery/item for this order item is 😧 do you have a rejection reason set for this item? This could be another likely cause.

Had you shared the screen shot from schedule line tab, it would be easy to understand the issue. Also, it is not clear whether you checked the change log of that sale order. Have a look at OSS note 1478022 where it is explained the possible reasons

Hi Lakshmipathi,

Thank you for your reply.

Please check the schedule line data of the line item in attached screenshot and there are no changes were carried out. I will check the OSS note for the reasons, thank you.
