Hi,We have a requirement to mobilize custom built fiori apps (HCM-time) for employees . We have built the applications and deployed the apps to SCP . Now looking at the options for distributing and making it available for users on their mobile. Any recommendation on using Fiori client Vs building apps using cordova (SAP mobile services) . We heard that SAP has stopped making any updates to Fiori Client and may not be available soon .. What is the best way to approach this scenario ?.. Also any recommendations on distributing the apps (Mobile data management solution ?). Is SAP afaria , SAP mobile secure still available ?. Anyone has used those and good resources available ?.. Appreciate any insights . Thank you.
SAP has announced plans to remove the SAP Fiori Client from public app stores by the end of Q1 2021, see SAP Note 2992772, but it will still be available on the Apple Business Manager and Managed Google Play Store for MDM/EMM users. The mobile build uses the same SDK that Fiori Client uses and there is also SAP Mobile Platform SDK using Kapsel. Fiori apps and Fiori Launchpad are already mobile ready though and Fiori Client isn't required as they can be run from mobile browsers just fine. The only reason to use Fiori Client or Mobile Build would be to access specific hardware resources such as the camera for barcode scanning. SAP Note 2992772 though also mentions pure Javascript barcode scanners that can be used from mobile browsers.
