CR 2020 Error "Library not Registered"

New install of CR 2020 (trial) on a new Windows 2019 Server. When running a report, the following error occurs:

Error: Library not registered

Code: 0

URL file:///C:/Users/Todd/AppData/Local/Temp/2/prompting1.html

Thanks in advance!

Tried to add a screen snip but guess that's not allowed. This occurs when we enter the critera for the report and click "OK"

Two (and a half) questions before I can try to answer you:

1. When you installed the software, were logged in with Administrator rights?

2. Is this a report you created in the trial version of the software or is it a report from another source? If it's from another source, does it use a custom UFL (user function library)?

Also, I'm assuming that you're running in Crystal and not through another application.

Hi Dell,

I was logged into the server with a Domain Admin account when I installed.

The report was created in 8/8.5/11 or 11.5. lol, I don't remember which I used.

Another thought. I did have CR 8 and 11 R2 and 2020 on this server. I took them all off and the reinstalled 2020 when I saw the error.

Being logged in as an Admin is not the same as specifically selecting Run As Administrator.

You do need to select Run as Admin...

True and I did not select "Run as.." I will uninstall then reinstall with "Run as..." and report back

CR 8 and 8.5 were never supported being side by side with any other version of CR, you should never install any other version with CR 8 installed on the same PC.

Main issue is CR 8 used MSIExec to install Crystal, it had the issue of when uninstalling it never actually cleaned up behind itself.

If the Server is new I suggest rebuilding it and don't install CR 8 ever.

Cleaning up CR 8 was virtually impossible to do back then and even now.

Sorry for the delay, just got the new server to a point where I could test a report.

I am able to return data on the report! Thank you all for the assistance!

Strange, this was an old error caused by CR 8, see:

https://apps.support.sap.com/sap/support/knowledge/public/en/1811873

but you have brand new CR2020 on brand new Server.

Verify if any old CR applications installed on the same machine
