Hi All
I am trying to use the Quick Link functionality in the EP SP 14, which seems like a very cool thing.
what I have done is:
create an Iview with a quicklink property : "link1"
then I try to access the Iview through the url : http://[hostname]/irj/portal/link1
this works fine, when the page that the Iview is on is visible in the portal detailed navigation.
But I dont want the Page to be visible in the navigation so I set the properties "navigation entry point" = no and "invisible in navigation" = yes. for both the Iview and the page.
now when I try using the above link a js error occurs before entering the page.
this seems like a SAP bug to me.
has anyone had experience using Quicklinks in generel or specifically using them for Iviews not visible in navigation?
Hi Ulrik,
Have you tried using your Quicklink in lightframework page and assigning it to a light destktop. The layout of the page in which you are placing the iview should also be light.
This mite help you.
Thanks,
Sharmila.

I think I will provide a little more details
my Iview is on a Page which is on a Workset that is attached to a role.
when any use with the given role logs on he sees the workset in the top level navigation, and the pages on this workset in the detailed navigetion (left of the content).
My situation is that I do not want the users to be able access this Iview directly through the navigation but only from other Iviews passing a parameter to the Iview, so I would like to do this using the Quicklink.
I have several doubts about this:
1. When I want to show the Iview like this do I need to have it on a page?
2. how does the two properties "entry point" and "invisble in navigation" (or other properties on the Iview or page) affect the Quicklink functionalty?
3. does both the page and the Iview need to be "invisible in navigation"?
4. does both the Page and the Iview need to have a Quicklink defined?
5. the portal throws a js error when accessing the page through a Quicklink and the page is not in the navigation, can this be because the portal attempts to mark the selected entry point in navigation, which does not exist?

Hi Ulrik,
It does work for me. Just change the invisible in navigation = yes. for the Page/iview.
