SAP ByDesign Webservices interatction through JSON

We're trying to integrate our WooCommerce website with SAP. The webservices documentation is suggesting we use SOAP protocols in order to interact with it. Is it possible to use JSON files to interact with the webservices instead?

Dear Eric,

If you are using PDI infrastructure ie creating a custom solution and custom webservice, then to consume the webservice in PDI either WSDL or REST URL can be used.
