Shelf life dynamic pegging issue

I don't understand the pegging beahvior of shelf life to receipts and stock or may have made some wrong settings. We are using SCMAPO release 714 service pack level 12.

In product view you can see some available stocks with availability date 5 February 2021. There is also a planned order with availability date on 14, January 2021. The dependent requirement date ist 28, January 2021. Even though the availability date of the stock is behind the dependent reuqirement date the dependent requirment pegs the stock. Why does system not peg the planned order instead?

Product master is configured as followed. Shelf life is active.

Pegging interval is set to maximum.

I get another result if I change the pegging interval. If I change it the way that the stocks aren't in pegging horizon anymore the pegging in product view is how I would expect it.

I configured the maximum lateness to zero. No receipt is allowed being to late for the demand.

Now the dependent requirement pegs the planned order. The stocks aren't pegged anymore.

It looks like if there are stocks and planned orders in pegging horizon life cache always uses stock first. But I'm guessing here...

I didn't find anything in SAP help, OSS or SCN.

Can someone please help with explanation? Or have I made some incorrect settings?
