Dimension filter - search based on ID brings no results

Hi,

my story (live connection to BW query) has a page filter based on a dimension "WBS Top" and my problem is that search on dimension members based on "ID" or "ID and Description" does not work.

Search based on "Description" is working but it is not what we need as we need to search based on a Key.

When I try the same scenario with a smaller dimension that is also compounded, e.g. Plant, it works fine.

Has anyone experienced the same issue and has a solution/explanation?

Hello Radka,

WBS are stored in system in internal format (numeric) and displayed in external format (with dot and dashes). When you are searching by key/ ID SAC is trying to search on internal number format. in BW the conversion is automatic, not so in SAC.

Where as then you are searching by description it is going to the text table.

Last time I checked the issue still exist in my environment. I suggest opening an incident with SAP Support. They may release a fix.

thank you for the possible explanation of the issue.

However, for me, even searching on internal format is not working, what you can already see in the 5th screenshot of my original message.

Any other suggestions?

Internal format are not same as Key of WBS master data. Instead they are pure numeric values only stored internal in the system (BW or ECC). For example for WBS 01/C-01-813687 internal number could be 09674278.

Anyhow this should be reported to SAP and get it fixed as bug. I suggest you open a case with SAP under component LOD-ANA-DES

You are right, I reported the issue to SAP as there seems to be no other rational explanation for the issue than being a bug.

Hi Vijayeta,

I opened an OSS Incident that is now being handled by SAP.

Anyhow, I can confirm that after the latest SAC release it suddenly became possible for us to search based on "ID". However, a search based on "ID and Description" is still impossible.
