customer quotation (VA22) with VC BOM for a KMAT

Hi.

in a customer quotation (VA22) I have a config material (KMAT) with a set of VC characteristics & values. If I have the same material in a customer sales order (VA02), I`m able to upload the BOM from an external configurator (as not all KMAT`s are fully set up in SAP VC with standard BOM explosion).

Now I also want to be able to upload a BOM for a kmat in a quotation.

Any idea on how to approach that? Are the BOM tables the same for the quotation as for a sales order?
