How can I debug MDK apps running on the mobile phone instead of an emulator?

I'm building an MDK app in business application studio and I've been able to export and set up the environment in Visual studio code for debugging. The problem is that due to hardware limitations I cant use an emulator efficiently. Can I debug using an mobile phone instead?
