Unable to create an instance of SAP Data intelligence Trial 3.0 on AWS.

Hello Team,

I'm trying to create an instance of SAP Data Intelligence, trial edition 3.0 in CAL from past two days.

I have tried more than 8 times but it is always failing with below error:

The software provisioning process has failed on one or more virtual machines. For more information, see the Virtual Machines section in the instance details. If there are problems with the software, please terminate this instance and try to create another one.

I would really appreciate if SAP could provide some inputs on the matter.

Agreed- having the same issue as well since end of December. I posted some logs I found as well. Here is the related issue on Frank Wang's post.

Hi Indu,

I don't believe I am able to make this update. It is part of the scripting which is automated during formation of the services. If you have any insight on how to perform the update and then kick off the install process, I'm open to trying.

Did you manage to resolve the issue?

I tried on Azure as well but found an error "Connection refused" in the applianceagent log file.

No, I've tried various times and always running into this same issue. I did find an article referencing the error I found in the logs:

Really hoping someone from SAP DI / CAL team can get back to us. I really want to get moving on this trial.

Hi Roland,

We tried to create the instance from teh scratch:

1.Registered to CAL.

2. Generated Access key against root user(for global access).

3. Created instance.

But this failed yet again with same error as in screenshot in first query.

Could you suggest a way to solve this issue?

Thanks for replying.

I have followed the instruction from the following document to create the instance everytime: a318f6b5-aa5a-4dfb-893e-1aac356ca5f8_Getting_Started_Guide_v37.pdf (ondemand.com)

Recently I tried with region US-East and I could see an error in S3 bucket creation in AWS but for EU-West and EU-central regions, Instance creation failed and there were no errors in AWS either.

Could you please suggest?

Try to rerun the creation from scratch. this is a CAL Image ...
