BI 4.2 SP7 - Platform Search keeps failing

I see a lot of OLD information back from 4.1 and in 4.2SP7 this is still not fixed. I have ran this on a schedule, and tried continous with the same result, FAILED.

Should I find a new home for this? Maybe make a share on the E drive drive on the server where the software runs?

And can SAP issue a hot fix for SP7 to fix this once and for all or is it fixed in SP8?

What patch level are you running? Is there a note for this issue?

  1. The platform search job fails with a JobServer failure message 3 times then the search will fail when looking for a report.
  2. I need to go and rename the PlatformSearch directory.
  3. Restart the platform search on Continuous because the schedule run will fail to restart after server reboot.

I haven't had many problems with SP7 Patch 500 (which was the latest when I built the new Windows 2016 servers).

I will be upgrading to SP8 Patch 700, any thoughts about that?

Thanks for all the help!!!!

BI 4.2 SP7 Patch 500 was not good (many problems) which was fixed in later SP / Patches.

What exactly is the problem you are having is not clear enough to understand.?

Great but you didn't answer my question of where its fixed. SP7 Patch 5 has been very stable for us with the exception of the platform search.

4.2 SP7 Patch 500. I am going to start testing the latest version for SP8 Patch 700 to see if this is fixed.

I have looked at release notes and nothing about it being fixed. All the old postings (seems thats all we have anymore) just tell you rename the old index and let the rebuild.

No, fix it.
