How to Calculate Container wise SLED

sjsri

Hi Guru's.,

Client Requirement:

Business generates Inbound delivery with a specific Batch Size and in turn this generates an inspection lot with Lot Quantity, that quantity is divided into Container's. Further the SLED is generated for the batch. Business needs whenever the container is opened from that day On words the SLED to be calculated for that perticular Container quantity.

Eg: The batch quantity is 100Kgs and when GR is done, the SLED get's Calculted. now the batch quantity has to be distributed in 10 containers of 10Kg each.

If Container No.1 is opened on 28/12/2020 and if the SLED is 7days(how to specify) from the Opened date, then new proposed SLED/BBD for the Container should be 28th-Dec+7days

If Container No.2 is opened on 30/12/2020 and if the SLED is 7days(how to specify) from the Opened date, then new proposed SLED/BBD for the Container.2 should be 30th-Dec+7days and similarly for the subsequent container's.

Expertise required to check the possibility of mapping this scenario

Thank's in advance.!!

Hi Sri,

I am not sure if this is covered as SAP std.

I have never worked on such a scenario earlier

But 1 Batch can only have 1 Shelf Life - only 1 batch master. so changing the SLED of the batch itself when you open containers one at a time is not possible. Imagine a scenario where you open 3 containers in 3 days. If you update the batch master, then the SLED for the 1st container is wrong. You would also lose the original shelf life (calculated from Date of Mfg) in case you update the batch master

Your requirement would need multiple enhancements.

1) You will need to maintain the SLED once the container is opened in the material master - custom field required

2) Once the container is opened, you need to maintain the date of opening in the container record

3) Write a program that would check the SLED and Container opening date. If the current date is larger than the difference between the 2, then the container is content is expired. Move the stock of this container to blocked stock via this custom program.

Again, as i said, i do not know if there exists a better way to do this.

Hi S.Maheshwari,

Thanks for your reply, yeah we also thought same as you mentioned but we are trying to avoid the multiple enhancements so will see anyone have any more possibilities.,

Thank you
