Hi,
What would be the benefits of doing a "DMO without system update" to move a EHP 7 SAP system to HANA as the database, and then update the SAP software to S/4HANA vs the one step DMO of SUM (combined upgrade / migration) ?
Especially compared with downtime, the 2 step process will have one large downtime split into two smaller downtimes, correct?
Thanks,
Willem
Hi wlourens2
The one significant benefit I see in the approach of migrating to HANA without update and then converting to S/4 HANA is leveraging the potential of HANA DB during S/4 Conversion. You can better optimize the resources and finish of the conversion in shorter time than you would have done in any other database e.g. the current one. However, this approach has a pain of planning two downtimes.
