Hello,
I am defining characters to use in characteristics template via SPRO > Cross Application Components > Classification System > Characteristics > Define Template Characters.
Could someone explain to me what the numbers in the column Usage mean or where I can find the meaning/definition of those numbers?
Pressing F1 gives the following explenation: "Defines how the defined template character is interpreted by the application." but that does not help me.

floydaus,
Isn't it self explanatory if you press F4 in the field?
After defining "Define Template Characters" you will create templates and there you will use this characters like below.
___,___.___ so here you are _ for number position and , as separate
another example could be AACCNN could be time format. .
Thanks

Hello Team
Im having another problem: I create a template for a CHAR characteristic like AA/AAAA but whatever value I use I got error message that value is not in synch with template.
Any suggestions?

Apologies, let me rephrase my issue. I've defined a template for Data Type Character and while trying to add 'Values', I get error message saying 'Value is incompatible with template'. If this was your issue as well where do I remove the value 'SPACE' from allowed values of template in Customizing? A snapshot of the path would really help... Thanks!
Yes it should be the same. In customizing you have list of characters to be used in templates like A, B, N.... try to delete Row containing the SPACE
