Import Product Classification Via Excel Import Action

Hello all,

Please can someone tell me what is the best way to import Product Classifications using Excel Import ? is there any OOB way to do that ? otherwise, is implementing a custom excel translator (ExcelValueTranslator) the only possible way ?

I was thinking also about importing ProductFeatures instead (by adding excel import/export actions in collection browser), is this a correct way to do so ?

Hi,

which version are you running on?

If I'm not mistaken, support for product classifications have been added to OOTB excel import with version 1808. If you are on this, or later version, you could use excel for this type of import: https://help.sap.com/viewer/5c9ea0c629214e42b727bf08800d8dfa/1808/en-US/bb77d8ae51e546138bec07a396f0...

If you are on version below 1808, you probably need to look at impex for import as I believe extending excel will be quite some effort (and it probably makes sense to consider upgrade to get to a newer and supported version of the platform).

Thanks for your reply. We are in 6.6 version now.

I have same impression that the implementation of translators is somehow complicated, for the case of classification attribute.
