Custom sorting isn't available

Hello,

I'm using month in tables and charts.
The standard sorting option is Jan - Feb - Mar - Apr....
I would like to add a custom sorting like Apr - May - Jun - .....
Unfortunally the option is not availible in tables (see screenshot).

I'm using livedata from BW.

Any ideas how I can achive the above mentioned sorting?

For custom sort in BW live conneciton, it's only supported on BW/4HANA 2.0 SP4+, for more detail, please refer to note https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/2715030

Just to clarify we can still use calculated dimensions for acceding and descending order. BW4HANA 2.0 SP4+ lets you do it out of the box.

Live data models are not supported with this function. You can use expression to create calculated dimensions in live model though. As fiscal periods.

Here is an example to do it directly on charts. Though I dont think in your case it would help with shorting. Give it a try on chart. If it doesn't work or if you are planning to reuse this, then model level calculated dimensions is the option for you.

Hello hoernst,

You can achieve this by enabling fiscal year option in model and select April as starting month. Then you can short charts based on fiscal month and April will be your starting month.

Steps below in below KBA:

Do you know, if this option is availiable for livedata?
I can't find the fiscal year option in the model based on livedata.
In a different model which is based on a csv-file I can turn on the fiscal year.

Hi Stefan,

For live connection, the required fiscal hierarchy needs to be maintained/created at CDS/HANA side. Creating at Model level/Story level will not be possible.

vijayeta.sharma True this should be the case in Model ideally. But when model using live connection to CDS these things are restricted and nothing is enabled in model.

sayedzubaird BW connection uses propitiatory protocol unlike CDS views. BW live connection let you create calculated dimentions on model. Give it a try.

BW CORS setup is prerequisite for live connection to SAC. Though depending upon BW version number of setup steps may varry.
