Wir wollen das IDES auf einer vollständigen HANA - DB testen. Wird die normale HANA DB oder die XS unter der im CAL kostenlos angebotenen Trial Version verwendet.

Hi Ivan,

we want to evaluate the performance of SAP ERP on HANA.

We found out that the perfomance of this system in an AWS-environment as it is recommended by SAP is 'only' approximately 10 times as fast as a ususal SAP-ERP on Oracle. This is less than SAP states as performance gain by using SAP HANA.

This is why we wonder whether the usage of the XS-engine inside the HANA-environment has impact on the performance of the system and whether SAP ERP on HANA always uses the XS-engine even if we would install it on premise or in a private cloud environment not using CAL.

I always thought the XS-engine is something líke a 'small' HANA-database for developers to play and learn with HANA.

this should be a normal HANA platform with XS engine. Maybe I didn't fully understand the original question.

yes we did and connecting the database we get the information that it is a HANA XS database.
