Hi iLm Gurus,

We are facing issue when trying to block vender master data, error message : Reference date for time reference END_OF_YEAR not correctly determined: 1 message no. CVP_DP_ILM014, txn CVP_PRE_EOP can not find the ERDAT.... but bloking customer master data working fine .... please if you can help and thanks lot in advance.

Some tips to analyze this further:

1. Check with Report IRM_CHECK_CUST the consistency of the ILM object FI_ACCRECV:

2. Check / Add (to be sure) the missing IRM constant in the Time Offset of "End of year" in IRM_CUST:

2a Run Report IRM_CHECK_CUST again to check the consistency of the ILM object FI_ACCRECV after saving this change.

3. Check in Transaction /nIRM_CUST_BS the settings for time references source tables and fields:

Many thanks Nico. On behalf of Sidi, we checked the rule, otherwise with ILM Simulator. t-code ILMSIM, it says no matching rule found, and when the WRITE program is executed, the Record is correctly PreSelected, But not written, as per same error of ILMSIM:

Hi Gabriele,

I think the message is clear: there is no matching SAP ILM retention rule found for the data you try to archive or destroy.
Please have a look at the residense/retention times defined in IRMPOL, in audit area BUPA_DP for this ILM object.
It could be that you didn't defined the ILM rules (correctly) or did't activated the ILM rule.
Tip: in IRMPOL, create a rule with (almost) no condition fields to start with. It could be that the data you use for testing does not match the conditions you have defined in your ILM rules. Take for example only the condition field company code and populate it with values like 0 - 999 and test with that.

Also note that you have to define multiple policies for FI_ACCPAYB with BOTH the Rules policy category RST (residense time .. thats how long you keep the data in the SAP system before archiving) and RTP (retention time, how long to keep it before destroying the data). It could be that you didnt maintained the residense time ... only the retention time. The residense time is used when ou try to archive the data like you did in SARA.

You can find some usefull screendumps on how to maintain that here: ASUG presentation see the slide describing case 1.
After activating the (new) rules in ILM, you can test it again in ILMSIM until you dont get the message anymore "no valid rule found". When you have no errors anymore in ILMSIM, you can try to archive the data in SARA.

Hello,

Usually this error occurs when the calculation for time failed. It could the the value of the source table-field is incorrect or empty Or indirect determination of time reference value failed.

Check the data set you are process for the value of ERDAT value of the respective table. If this has no correct value (date), it would throw this error.

Many Thanks, Revathi, for the suggestions, however in the available environment we have managed the complexity of having to select all the necessary OSSs, as it is not possible for the moment to move towards an EHP/SP that includes all SAP developments till 2019/2020 (e.g. the WHITELIST is not working and we only use the basic CVP functions).

Is there a detailed matrix of Archiving Classes/Badis/Apis for EHP/SP documented by SAP (especially in 2020 there have been many undocumented developments) ?
