Hello Experts,
Hoping someone can help, I am performing a test installation of S/4 Hana 2020 on Rhel 7.7, the installation process seems to run as expected for gathering the information for the installation. However when the installation key needs to be generated the following error is tbrown:
I cannot seem to be able find a lib64/libstdc++.so.6 that contains GLIBXX_3.4.20
Has anyone performed a successful installation on RHEL7 who can advise on where and how I can install this version of libstdc?
Hi Sunny,
I hope you have already seen 2455582 - Linux: Running SAP applications compiled with GCC 6.x
Just want to know if you see the package compat-sap-c++-6* using
# rpm -q compat-sap-c++-6
and installing the below didn't help.
# yum install compat-sap-c++-6

Hi Sumit,
I was able to get past the error by following 2886607 - Linux: Running SAP applications compiled with GCC 9.x
Thank you for the assist, I am now trying to resolve another issue that has occurred after the installation process had started.\
My technical problem with swpm and glibc3.4.20 could be solved by creating a link on the SAP APPL, where SWPM was started:
as root:
mkdir /usr/sap/lib
ln -s /opt/rh/SAP/lib64/compat-sap-c++-9.so /usr/sap/lib/libstdc++.so.6
chown <sid>adm:sapsys /usr/sap/lib
Hi Sunny,
I had the same messages with a new installation with RHEL 7 and opened a customer message at SAP for this. I was told that according PAM only RHEL8 is supported for S/4 HANA 2020. I was not aware, that SAP has stopped support for RHEL7 with the Release 2020:
I am not sure, if there is a chance, that RHEL 7 will be certified for S/4 HANA 2020. If I get any positive news from SAP, I will keep you updated via this blog.
For gcc new compat release for HANA 2.0 rev 5 see also 2886607 - Linux: Running SAP applications compiled with GCC 9.x but even with compat-sap-c++-9 on HANA server, I had he glibc-error with SWPM...
Update 14.01.21: After setting an addtional link (see other post above ) SWPM could proceed further...
