Am getting the following error when trying to create jco connections. Please let me know what todo in this case.

The error displayed is..

com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (102) RFC_ERROR_COMMUNICATION: Connect to message server host failed Connect_PM TYPE=B MSHOST=v011 GROUP=DEFAULT R3NAME=BIS MSSERV=sapmsBIS PCS=1 ERROR service '?' unknown TIME Fri Apr 21 09:20:41 2006 RELEASE 640 COMPONENT NI (network interface) VERSION 37 RC -3 COUNTER 1

does it have anything to do with SLD?

how do i know whether SLD has been configured or not assuming that i have access only to portal. I assume it is not possible to know this since SLD has to be configured in WAS and the EP cannot contain this information.

Thanking in advance

Hi

What is your OS?

For WIN2003 Server do the following:

Go to C:\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc

And add the line

sapms<SID> 36<Instance Number>/tcp

sapms<SID> 3601<Instance Number>/tcp

Also create a publi logon group in the backend sap system

Reboot the server and check

Hope this helps

Hi Madhu,

Best regards,

Nicole

Hi Sameer,

Make service entry for sampmsC13 ( C13 = SID for R/3) on the J2EE host. and also Check whether PUBLIC group is availablein your R/3 System. Transaction SMLG.

Give a system reboot for J2EE host.

Hi Vinoth,

I have the same problem as described in this thread, but on a 700 basis. How do I change the serice in J2EE host. Can you give more details for the solution? I would need it very urgently.

Thanks a lot,
