Crystal Reports V9 no license manager / can't transfer license

0 Kudos

Hello Everyone!

I was trying to get the license key for my Crystal Reports version 9.2.0.448. But when I attempted to start with the suggested directions "Firstly, open the program and go to the Help menu and select License Manager", I don't see a License Manager. I also looked in the Regedit, but I don't see the "SAP BusinessObjects" under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE>WOW6432Node. Does 9.2 have a different setup? It is a windows 7 64-bit system.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Wasn't 9.2 the version that came with Visual Studio 2008, or was it 9.5? I don't remember now... It did not require a license, it was built into VS.

Get the latest CR for VS here and upgrade your Project:

https://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/Crystal+Reports%2C+Developer+for+Visual+Studio+Downloads

Requires VS 2010->2019.

See this Blog on upgrading:

Crystal 9.2 was available before BusinessObjects bought Crystal, so it's about 20 years old. I assume you're reinstalling because you're upgrading your computer. There is no guarantee it will run on newer versions of Windows.

If the license key is stored in the registry, I would do a search for either CrystalDecisions or just Crystal to see whether you can find the key that way.
