BI Server Out Of Space - PlatformSearchData - DeltaIndexes Very Large

Hi gurus-

Our platform has been running fine.

Today we added a node to the cluster to have a dedicated AJS. (May be correlated, may be unrelevent).

However, the Data\PlatformSearchData\workplace\DeltaIndexes directory is abnormally filling with several large files.

The index has been built and has been updating on schedule correctly.

We did not initiate a rebuild of the index.

Why today is the delta index filling so much with temporary data?

Hi Brian,

Is the above screenshot of the node which was recently added?

Also, in the newly added node in the cluster, do we also have the APS with Platform Search Service?

Could you check the status of the delta indexes directory on the remaining nodes?

We have 4 nodes now. We added #4 today.

Nodes 1 & 2 house majority of the APS.

Nodes 3 & 4 house AJS (limited- only destination service delivery), and WIPS.

Earlier this afternoon, node #2 crashed because out of disk space. Same issue. The delta index directory filled on that node. The platform scheduling search scheduled job terminated in a failed status.

I ran a new instance of the platform scheduling search job, and the job picked up to run on node #1.

Node #2 delta index cleared out at some point, it may have been either the restart of the server or restart of the platform.

A setting got changed in Platform Search Application that enabled indexing of all metadata. Reverted this option back to reports only and this resolved the issue.
