Yes you can use negative values. Normally a condition adjustment whereby the amount is reduced will automatically create a negative adjustment.
If you have a base rent condition and would like to reduce the overall contract value you can also use a separate condition for "rent reduction". This would create a negative posting based on you configuration of the condition type and corresponding accounting settings.
Unless you are referring to the fact that you overall contract value is negative which is not very common.
