Batch split in EWM INB of the Batch distributed from S/4HANA

The INB with 100 EA and Batch #1 was distributed from S/4HANA into Embedded EWM 1909. What is supplied by the vendor in actuality is Qty. 60 of Batch #1 and Qty. 40 of Batch#2.

I understand that Batch Split in EWM to work there should not be the Batch value and we need to use Batch Subitem to do the Batch Split. Since I already have the Batch#1, is it possible to do the Batch Split, without using the Process Code?

  • Hi Suresh

It is not possible to add the batch in EWM once the delivery is distributed to EWM with Batch#1 in Standard SAP. SAP tells that if the batch is coming from ERP to EWM, then the leading system is ERP. You cannot do the changes for batches in EWM. If you have to do it, then you have to some enhancements during EWM inbound delivery creation and make changes to batch determination indicator in EWM inbound delivery line item. But this is not a standard solution and should be thoroughly tested to see if there are any side effects.
