MRP Profile to enable variable Availability Check

I need to have a different ATP Availability Check value for MRP Areas than the one maintained for the parent Plant. Can MRP Profiles enable this? For example, we have Forward Stocking Locations represented as MRP Areas and these locations cannot hold backorders. Backorders are held in the Parent Plant Finished Goods location. For FSL ATP we want Scope of Check of "stock only" and for the Parent Plant Finished Goods location we want Scope of Check of "stock + future Purchase Order".

MRP profile is just a preset of material master MRP parameters. You can define there default values of MRP relevant fields and if they are changeable. MRP profiles are managed in the following transactions:

So you can change your MRP profile NEW1 and make ATP check group field not fixed there.

However it'll still not allow you to maintain different ATP settings on MRP area level as this is simply not supported.

I'm afraid what you need is not possible in SAP standard. You can define Availability Check Group in MRP3 view of material master on the plant level. However the field is not available on MRP area level. I tend to think that it make sense as ATP is in general performed on the plant level with control parameters defined on the plant level.

Hi Dominik. I am asking about MRP Profile and whether it can be used to have variable Availability Check Group. And first let me explain that I am not an IT person. My understanding of MRP Profile is they can be used to assign default values in the MRP Views 1 thru 4. In MRP View 3 the Availability Check field is assigned (see attachment) and I believe it is in this field that IT can configure the Scope of Check. I believe this means we can have an Availability Check XX that has Scope of Check of "stock only" and another one of YY with Scope of Check of "stock + PO". Then we could create MRP Profile MRPXX to be used in our FSLs with Availability Check XX and another MRP Profile MRPYY to be used in our central backorder locations. It is my understanding that MRP Profile is assigned at the Plant/Storage Location level not at the Plant level (see attachment).
