Rework control key - Benefits and disadvantages

Hello,

could you help me to understand if for rework processing, whether having an operation inside the original order or a separate rework order linked to the original order, if we need necessary a control key with the field "rework" ticked?

What are really the benefits and the disadvantages?

I saw that the client its working for rework with control keys without the rework field ticked, but they have ticked the scheduling.

Can you please give me some example why its is important to have specific control key for rework with the "rework field marked?

Rework operations can be handled in two ways either with Trigger points concept or a separate rework order type.

Based on Business process what client is performing in line ? Are they carrying out the rework activity in parallel to their current production ? Or they have a separate area identified in shop floor to perform the rework activities? Please clarify above points
