CDS View annotation with OTR.... Translation doesn't show in Fiori app

Hi All,

I'm at my wits end with this issue. I created a simple CDS view extension to add one field to be displayed in the My Inbox app for PO approval.

  • I've added SOTR labels as well, and the SOTR text is translated to DE from SOTR_EDIT.
  • I can see the EN and DE entries in the SOTR_TEXT table as well.
  • I've also translated the CDS view labels directly in SE63.
  • Both SOTR text as well as the translation are added to the transport request.
  • In SOTR_EDIT, I did Edit->Context->Adjust, for both EN and DE.
  • I've executed /$OTR in the system, so the OTR buffer is refreshed.
  • Browser cache is cleared.

When logged in with English, this works perfectly good. But when logged in with DE, no matter what I do, I still cannot see the DE text for this label in the My Inbox App, while the same for all the standard labels appear fine. it's just a blank space where the label is supposed to appear, while the field value is displayed correctly.

Is there anything else I need to do for the translation to take affect?

Ok with a tip from another colleague, I was able to resolve the issue.

Apparently OTR is not even required here. I did SE63 translation for the extension CDS view 'ZC_PO_InvPlanValue' here. But in this case, I should do the same for the standard CDS view as well 'C_PurchaseOrderFs', since this append structure is added to that, and the My Inbox app is reading that view only.

So now I did translation for the standard CDS view in SE63, and removed the OTR labels from the extension view. And everything is working perfectly in both languages!
