Which warranty claim type is going to be used by the action box FM when creating the warranty claim?
The claim type determines the number range. It might be as easy as pointing the action box BAPI call to the correct claim type. Yes, to Peter's point: claim needs to have a number range configured.

It looks like you are missing a number range for the notification type.
Check your settings in SPRO under IMG element:
Plant Maintenance and Customer Service->Maintenance and Service Processing->Maintenance and Service Notifications->Notification Creation->Notification Types->Define Number Ranges
