ONE Installer is not recognizing SAP older installation

Hi Experts,

I am trying to upgrade the SAP version from 4.1 SP06 to 4.2 SP08 with the ONE Installer. I managed to do it in the test environment which is non-clustered, however, when I execute the same installer in the production environment's main node, it does not recognize that I already have an older version installed and it runs like a fresh installation installer.

The odd thing is that when I run the installer in the cluster's second node machine, it does recognize that is an upgrade instead of a fresh installation.

Note that the installer's title in the test environment is "SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.2 SP08 Patch 2 Platform Update", which is different in comparison to the installer's title executed in the production environment main node machine (SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.2 SP08 Patch 2 Platform setup).

I kindly ask for your help to find a solution.

Thanks,
Juliana

Hi,

We, together with SAP, found out that the cause of this issue was that we had a different Support Pack version in Windows Add/Remove programs from the server version. The solution was to make a fresh installation of SAP 4.2 with the ONE Installer.

Thank you all for your attention!
