Hi,
In our company, we have a machine part no (say A) which is of E type. Under this part, there is an import part which is of F type (say B). Now this import part needs to arrive at our plant before 1 month of the actual production schedule. Now if I create a planned order of part A (inhouse production time = 2 days), the dependent requirement of part B is getting generated on the start date of the planned order of part A which is okay.
Now the schedule line for part B is also getting generated on the same day as the dependent requirement date as per MRP.
If I have to generate the schedule line say 30 working days prior to the dependent requirement dates, what should I do?
Hi Soumyadip,
I forgot the mention that the offset date will not reflect on the schedule line directly. For example you have production order, when you look at the component list as the effect of lead time offset, the requirement date (can be seen under requirement date tab) of that material will be -30 days (Production Start Date - Lead Time Offset).
Lead time offset don't directly affect the proposals made during MRP Run. Lead time offset will only affect the requirement date of the component materials during BOM explosion. Please verify the start date of your planned orders.
If the component has lead time offset. Start date of planned order - Lead time offset = DepReq requirement date.
In terms of production/process orders. Start date of order - Lead time offset = OrdRes requirement date.
I hope I was able to explain the point well.

Darryl

Try to increase the lead time after adding the 30 days prior to production like if lead time is 10 days and you need that part 30 days before production use lead time of 40 days in master data of item.

Hi Soumyadip,
You can use the planned delivery time and GR processing time in MRP2 view. Sum of planned delivery time and GR processing time will be the availability date of material B. You can maintain 30 planned delivery time and 0 GR processing time or the other way around depending on your business process. If you are using a non-stock material in your BOM, you can use the lead time offset field, say -30 days. Meaning material will be scheduled to be received 30 days prior to the start of the production.
Hope this will help

Hi Darryl,
I maintained 30 days as the planned delivery time of the F type material in material master. After running the MRP, the schedule lines are being generated on the same date as the dependent requirement not 30 days prior. I am attaching screenshots of material master & md04 screen of the F type part.
Regards,
Soumyadip.
