ME21N Tcode

Hi,

When I try creating a purchase order through Me21n tcode I have entered the following details as mentioned below:

Header

Document type - UB

Supplying Plant - 4110

Purchasing Organization 4100

Purchasing Group 400

Company .Code - 4100

Item

Material 1038

Quantity -10

Plant - 4100

Storage Location - 0001

When I press Enter I get the following error

'Not possible to determine shipping data for material 000000000000001038'

What could be the missing parameter?

maintain the shipping data for particular plant 4100.

goto mm02->give ur material-->assign it palnt 4100.

and check 4100 is maintained as shipping point.

I ahve assigned it to plant 4100. But how to check 4100 is maintained as shipping point?

Hi Gayathri,

If you double click on the message, it will give you the diagnosis also.

Diagnosis

For the stock transport order, the system attempted to determine certain shipping data (e.g. the orderer, or sold-to party, and the responsible sales organization). The system was not able to determine this shipping data. Possible reasons:

the customer number of the plant does not exist;

the material master record does not exist or has been flagged for deletion;

data on the sales organization, the distribution channel or the division is missing for the supplying plant;

it was not possible to determine a shipping point.

Procedure

If the message is a warning, you can continue your processing.

If it is an error message, you cannot do so.

If necessary, contact your system administrator. The latter can check the settings for the supplying plant in Customizing.

Set up stock transport order</b></i>

What u can do to determine error is go to debug mode. Breakpoints->breakpoints at->statement->message. This will stop the program at the messages. U need to go till the correct message and then check the conditions just before the error msg is thrown. This will give u what is missing.

some data is missing for that material in MM01..(material master)..u may select a different material for ur purpose.. consult ur functional person for more details..
