Default language for storefront

Hello experts,

I had created a custom country-specific content catalog and site.

I had set country-specific defaulLanguage and defaultCurrency in BaseStore and CMSSite.

However when I go to the country-specific storefront I see that defaultCurrency is applied but defaulLanguage is not changed. Property file is provided.

What can be the issue?
