SAP ILM Archive Files Migration

Hi Experts,

Hope everyone is doing fine.

One of our client wants to migrate ILM archive files from Opentext Documentum to SAP IQ server. Is it possible to migrate archive files form one DB storage to FILESYSTEM storage?

What are the activities to be performed for migration of archive files?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Anushka

Hello

You can ask PBS Software, if they also have a Converter for these Kind of Format, as they have other Formats in place.

Hello Anushka,

The files cannot be moved with lift and shift from one store to other.

If this is done any other way, the access to the archive file would be lost.

One way to move is to trigger ILM conversion which would read the old file , apply rules and create new archive files and put into new target location. Please note that this is very expensive process.

Hi Revathi,

In case of migration from ECC to S4HANA (with different SID), ILM conversion is only way to migrate the data?

What would be the effective and feasible way to migrate thousands of archiving session from ECC to S4HANA.

Shashi

Hello Anushka.

Migration of files from one store to another is not supported with standard ILM.

Thanks Revathi.

Once ILM archive files are stored into one storage server, we cannot move to other storage vendor unlike classic archive files. Correct me if I am wrong?
