Hey there,

my goal is to sort/group the measures in a model. Can I still create dimensions from the individualmeasure that I can use later in my story?

E.g. I would like to summarize 5 measures of the model and then integrate them into my story. Is that possible?

Dear Rookie,

you can use a calculated measure to sum up x measures in 1 new measure.

Keep in mind all should have the same dimension type (linke all in USD oder all are amounts)

Thank you, but I have another question.

So that's my model:

and let's say I only need measure at row 1, 2 and 3. How can I group them together and use them in the story or how can i be the calculated measure?

it makes it easier if you can change the query but at least in a story you can add a calcuted measure with a sum of the 5 measures but you can not add dimensions to a model based on queries.

there is also the possibility to group KPIs incl building a sum by using a hierarchy in the model with x hierarchy members below in 1 hierarchie node(=group).

In a model you can e.g. add at ID4 a new member with a formula:

e.g.

ID1=A

ID2=B

ID3=C

new :

add ID4 with Formula =(A+B+C)

use ID4 in Stories

But I can't change the model because it was created with a query, or can i?
