Hello,
I am trying to configure a new material type, which should only affect IM and not WM when posting GI on a delivery. I tried to use a reference movement type but I 'm not able to supress the WM booking. When posting GI, the stock in MMBE gets reduced as it should but I'm getting negative stock in 916 too. The material type used for this special material is not relevant for picking (and doesnt appear on picklist as intended).
I already found out that I could assign the reference movement 999 to the IM movement type but since the material has no special stock indicator, I don't know how to separate it from regular materials. Is there an elegant way to do this?
Many thanks in advance and best regards,
Niklas
Hello nikwin
So it looks like you don't want to manage the stock of this packing material on storage bin level. Then I'd suggest to manage the packing material in a separate storage location that is not WM-managed. Then you can post GI of the packing material from this storage location and not to worry about WM functions.
Best regards

Hello nikwin
Why would you like to suppress WM stock update in WM-managed storage location?
The SAP standard is that whenever stock level changes in IM i.e. on WM-managed storage location level, the change is reflected immediately on WM level i.e. warehouse stock is change accordingly. That ensure stock consistency between IM and WM. Therefore once you post a goods issue in IM, a negative quant is created in WM. Deactivating this integration will break data consistency i.e. IM stock would change without affecting underlying WM stock.
Why would you like to disable this integration?

Hello Dominik Tylczynski,
thank you for your answer. I've set up a movement type for goods receive were WM is not affected by using reference movement type 999. The problem is, that we don't want to pick this special material (packaging material) from an actual storage bin with a TO. The stock should just reduce when posting GI and we want to receive a warning when the stock is not sufficient.
Best regards,
Niklas
