System users AVLB got "Mark for deletion" blocked in business transaction

Hi SAP PM Guru,

I came across a weird question that I can not set "DLFL" to equipment with system status AVLB in PRD system.

I copy the same setting to another test system via SCC1 and there is NO such an issue.

Let me demonstrate the issue in steps:

1. Change an equipment with status AVLB-available

Set deletion flag is blocked

2. In another test system where I transported the configuration by SCC1,

I don't think it is due to the setting in OIBS. I also did test manually with each business transaction I defined, there is no such influence.

After the same change transported to PRD, the status' business transaction is changed.

Please kindly offer your ideas and suggestions.

As a workaround, user has to change user status manually then comes back to change system status to DLFL.

Many thanks,

Sally

Hi Pete,

I don't think our ABAPer is correct as if it is an authorization issue, there would be a warning message.

I can't post screenshot here.

Would you mind leaving me with your email address?

I wanna show you the difference between PRD and TEST systems. In PRD, the function-deletion flag-set is greyed out.

I am still cluless.

Thank you,

Sally

Hi Pete,

After talking to our ABAPer, I realized it is an authorization issue.

I am sorry to bother you but I did learn something that is missing in your knowledge.

Thank you,

Sally

Sally,

OK, so when you said "Set deletion flag is blocked" in your initial post, you meant that an error message was issued??

Sally,

Could it be that a user-status in blocking DLFL - check the OIBS settings.

What system statuses are set on the equipment?

Hi Pete,

Pls help me troubleshoot.

I compared the 2 systems' setting in that particular user status profile, which are the same in OIBS as they share the same server and setting is copied from system 2 to system 1 via SCC1.

1. System 1 - I can set DLFL when the system status is either AVLB or INST.

2. System 2- I can NOT set DLFL when the system status is either AVLB or INST unless I change the user status to DELT first than I can set deletion flag.

What else can I check, please?

Can you please send images of the equipment in BOTH systems showing the system and user status.

Hi Pete,

Yes, I check none of the user status prohibits Set deletion flag.

On the contrary, we have one user status which set "set deletion flag".

The issue lies with why the same setting in 2 systems results in different outcomes.

Thank you,

Sally
